Nuclear energy and Capitalist crisis

RCT Socialist Update no. 12

The election campaign for Trade Unionists and Socialists Against Cuts is coming to an end with the Welsh Assembly elections of Thursday. Make sure you rmember to vote for the only candidates committed to opposing all cut backs. Vote TUSC on Thursday!

As normal the weekly meetings continue as usual. This week we will be discussing the recent events in Japan, the natural disasters and the subsequent nuclear crisis. We will be discussing whether the events were inevitable or whether they could have been avoided, in terms of the nuclear threat or the damages could have been limited in terms of the earthquake and tsunami. Socialists argue that these problems are always exacerbated by the profit driven system of capitalism where money is put ahead of peoples lives.

You can read a selection of articles about the recent developments in Japan here:http://www.socialistworld.net/view/104

Come along to the meeting Wednesday 7.30pm in the Otley Arms Treforest.
